Lockdown 2.0 - Update

Well, lockdown 2.0 is here, not quite as tight as the first but restrictions all the same. I just wanted to highlight a few things for the coming month and maybe beyond.

Sundays - Sanctuary and Church Live will both continue. With Church Live we will continue to review what we are doing in light of how the regulations are interpreted by the Church of England. While we are unable to gather to worship for another season we pray that you will continue to be able to engage with the online provision. We are united in Jesus and can pray and worship everywhere.

Thank you for all you have been doing over the last eight months. We must continue to care for one another and look out for our neighbours. With the darker nights, this lockdown will be even harder for some.

Furlough - During the first lockdown we furloughed two members of staff as the centre was closed for a time. This time the government has extended the scheme and it includes the option for part-time furlough. The standing committee is reviewing with the staff any options for furlough and these will be handled with great care. All our staff are highly valued. The PCC will ensure that any furloughed staff receive the equivalent of their full salary and any benefits.

Christmas is under review again in light of lockdown. There are a number of good ideas that will work even if we are unable to gather.

Pray - Can I remind you to pray, to simply spend time with the Father who loves you, Jesus who has clothed you in righteousness and the Holy Spirit who dwells in you. But also to pray for others as well. One of the simplest things we can do is pray and then if you’re prompted, send someone a card or a text to encourage them.

God Bless
Mark
