On the 11th of November 2018 the community of Weston gathered together, not to glorify war but to remember and honour those who had given their lives in service of this country so that we can be free.
The act of remembrance at the war memorial was packed with an estimated 600+ people. Our young readers added a really important flavour and it was significant on this 100 year anniversary to have many other special guests with us.
Following the act of remembrance everyone was invited by the Churches of Weston to a Peace Lunch at All Saints. It was feast of food, community and an amazing collaboration between the churches. I have never seen so many people catered for with such easy and grace in such a difficult space. There were in excess of 400 people in attendance from every part of our Weston community.
Thank you to all those who made it such and amazing day.
